29th practice to ride python

I attached cycle trailer to my python and rode to the river side park through cycle road in my neighbor city.
 In the trailer, my inline stake boots are. The steering was a little hard in this time.
 The hammock seat was bending, so People who saw it for the first time, They can't imagine how the bike is rode.
 I took these movies with going back to home. I used larger front wheel chain. That wasn't good. My balancing wasn't stable.
Any way, I don't have any hurts.

27th practice to ride python

I have heard about cycle road in neighbor city.
I tried riding it. But I don't know where is the edge.
 I searched shortcut to the river side park in neighbor city. Because the cycle road reaches to there. fortunately, I found the edge of the road. Then I started riding on the road to the park ! The road is narrow but I could enjoy enough.
For me, the distance is too longer. I needed taking a rest. At the park, the road is wider. How nice ! I could enjoy riding very much !
Then I could reach to the other side of the edge of the road.
I hope that my city will have such cycle road near the edge of neighbor's.
I want to have a travel with my python. cycle road has enough safety.
That's needed now, I think.

26th practice to ride python

This time, I tried riding up and down hill. I fell down twice. More experience of riding various situation of the road is needed, I think.
 I chose danger way. After I rode up hill. we can see the field of tea leaves. I took a rest.
 Then I started again. riding on public road is danger.
on this movie, I fell down twice. first one was danger, because of on the public road which cars drive. The speed about 20 km is better. But I need taking a rest more. My legs and concentration and riding technique isn't enough for long riding.
Any way, I came back home. I'm fine.

25th practice to ride python

I tried riding on new road. I have saw it and its part for walker doesn't have any steps.
This time's distance to ride is about 20 km. I can ride more longer distance after more practices, I think.

24th practice to ride python

I went to the nearest big station. with my python.
At first, I moved to the older road which was made in about 1600.
We can see older style houses on the road and less cars are drove in the early morning.
Not powerful pedaling is needed not to affect to the steering.
I reached to the goal. The station is on 2nd floor.
I found and ride on the blue road which is prepared for bike.
They are too short.
I went back to home on the same way to come here.
To start smoothly and ride stably, I need griping handle under the seat to fit my body and python well.

23th practice to ride python

I tried riding on public road to go to the sea ! On first movie, I already reached to there. and I enjoyed riding with seeing sea view.
The distance is about 8 km. The way has some danger parts. On the following movies, I was going back to home from the sea. Slower cranking brings more stable handle control. I need setting gears to get stable balance.
 I saw less cars in this seaside town.
 Some danger parts of road ! I needed more concentration.
The cars which are coming from my back are also danger on narrow road. Should I stop and wait the cars to pass through ?
Any way, I'm fine.

22th practice to ride python

Now, I get stable control of the python, I think.
So, Next step is riding on public road.
I got up at 4:00 am and I started riding from 4:30 am.
Using smaller front chain wheel is better for riding on public road with the car.
The better speed is from 15 km/h to 20 km/h to stable control.
It's hard to find good way to ride bicycle here. The culture of bike in here is really poor. I have never saw any recumbent which is riding. If I visit big city, I may be able to see various bikes. But I think that it's pretty rare to see the python lowracer.

21th practice to ride the python with cycle trailer TX-B2 and attaching mirror shield to helmet

I tried riding with cycle trailer TX-B2.
The material of the trailer is the iron and it's easy to connect.
I felt the stability was increased with it.
This time I used smaller chain wheel and the speed was low. I needed better balance to keep riding. It's good training.

The sun light is stronger in the summer. I need goggles or glasses which have color. Then I got eye shied for smaller motor bike and I attached it to my helmet for inline skating.
 At first, to attache the button to attache the eye shield, 3 holes which is the diameter 4 mm is needed.
 I took off softer part in the inside and drilled.
 The part of the buttons were attached with screws and nuts. Off course the length of the screws was adjusted. Because the thickness of the helmet is thinner than the motor bike's one.
 Like this !
 Now my helmet has 3 buttons.
 Then the shield was attached.
 I think that it's good angle of the shield and helmet.
 It looks like masked rider KIBA. I'm a fan of masked rider series.
Ohhh, too real masked rider.
Then I tried riding with it.

Cycle trailer TX-B2 made by Maneki factory

I had thought making cycle trailer by my self. However, I found very nice one on the net. I bought it. it is made from the iron ! Strong and heavy. the wheel is 16 inches.
 If quick release shaft is used, it's easy someone take it. So I chose The nut.
 The length is 1100 mm and the width, 300 mm, the height is 110 mm. I read the height is the most lowest and low weight bring stability. I'm going to try riding with it.
 How long my python. I need more one flag for the trailer.
 The connection of rear axle and the arms of the trailer is simple and easy.
It is folding. I need plastic box to fix on the trailer. The measurements of the box which can be added are 615 x 375 mm. and the trailer has four female screws which the size is M6.

19th practice to ride python

Riding 20 km/h is better for me. this time's max speed was 31.5 km/h, then I felt down because I lost control of handling.
 It's dangerous to ride with max speed for me. stable riding is needed for me to ride in public road.
about 22 km/h. it's better speed. I can take back control of handling when I lost it.

I tried turning at wider place.
It looks smooth handling. But actually Not smooth.
The next, Rider's view.
I could know that I can turn. I need more practice to get stable riding.
It takes about 15 minutes to the place which is near public park.
I need using lighter gears to go up the slope.

I tried to ride it in evening.
it's getting darker, it becomes hard to get balance.

Pedaling lightly and rotating more, that make stable balance and speed.
riding on straight line is needed to ride on public road.
The training in early morning is nicest. I can hear bird's songs and The sun light isn't strong.
I can ride safety, today ,too.

15th practice to ride python

Now, I can use smaller 4 rear gear and 1 front large gear.
I can ride speedy with them. But in the town, I can't turn well and keep straight line.
I think, I use crank shaft for belt drive system which the only chain wheel side is longer so chain line isn't at right position, So I can't use larger rear gear and front deraileur.
I tried BB for normal use but the length is longer, maybe 127.5 mm.

Today I fell down for 3 times. the bottle cage is bended. Attaching bottle cage on side is wrong, I noticed that.

I broke back mirror, too when I fell down. I need screw driver always to repaire it.
I have some light hurts on leg, arm and ass. my racing bottom was broken.
Not Fine.

14th practice and attached flag and bottle cage

The toe clips which were added yesterday work well. But it's hard to take feet off.
I had this practice about 1 hour. Max speed 25 km. I noticed that my body and bike don't fit enough, so the control of python isn't easy. I tried grip the seat to fix my body to the seat, by that, I don't often lost handle control.
I added back mirror and flag.
 The shaft of mirror was added. it was made from stainless and brass.
 The pole of the flag is attached to the front seat post. then the flag above my head. The pole is fishing pole.
The bottle cage isn't for pet bottle. I covered it with towel and put it in the cage.
I need more practice to get stable control. when I get it, I need low gears, I think.

13th practice to ride python and changing crank

I went to cycle shop to buy crank shaft which is longer one.
Because I want to use more large front gear to get more speed to get more stable.
The longer crank shaft is for belt drive bike.
Next movie is going to the shop.
 This is also going version.
I came back to home and I changed the normal crank to longer one.
The chain line isn't match perfectly. Front smaller gear and rear 5,6,7th gears can't be used. But I can use biggest front gear and rear smaller 1,2,3,4th gears. Now it's enough. The new crank shaft is for belt drive one so right side of crank is longer and left side is normal. So I can't use front derailer ,too. the distance of gear and seat post is too wide. But that's not problem. smaller front 2nd gear is 38T. I don't almost use it, I think.
Then I tried to ride. The crank's length is 165 mm. it's shorter one,too.
By using shorter cranks, My legs can reach to pedals more easy.
I added toe clip. In here japan, road for walkers has many steps. when we ride a bike on such road, we often repeat step up and down. In that case, my feet leave from pedal ! that's danger situation.
If tomorrow will be sunny, I will try them.
Today, I ride for 14 km.
I have pain in my back and on my right knee. I need more muscle power.
Good job, me !

Painting the front part and assembling

The front part also was painted.
 Light gray is better color to find mistakes.
 The blue is Matsuda's AT. Matsuda is japanese car maker.
 I don't like the position of the belt of hammock seat. I made it again.
 Dark one is old, white one is new.
 The assembling had started. The middle and rear parts are connected.
 This time, The seat sponge isn't cover all of seat veneer. and The glue wasn't used.
Just it putted on the seat veneer and covered imitation leather.
Assembled ! This is my python lowracer, but it's just replica. it doesn't have original idea except covered the seat boards with leather.
Here the rainy season has continued. more 1 week, we won't see the sun.
Still coming sunny or cloudy day, I will have practice of playing flute.

adding the boss for bottle cage and 12th practice and painting

My 12th practice to ride python.
Just I can ride for longer time and on more straight line.
I made bosses for shift gears with metal lathe by myself.
For bottle cage, I used M5 nuts.
I tried soldering them, but I couldn't. Maybe more power of torch is needed, I guess.
At first, 2 holes which the diameter is 6 mm are made on Folk of Seat back.
Then, Each M5 Nuts are welded.
I forgot taking the picture.
 I polished each parts to paint.
The setting is like this. Drill has brass wire brush.
 To fix the front whell, I grinded the rectangular. But the thickness became too thin and made hole. So I grinded the parts more and iron plates were welded.
Then putty ! I used polyester putty for body of car.
 My bad skill of welding is hidden. But that isn't the subject. The smooth surface is tough. I made such surface.
Then I painted the foundation to paint, then I painted them blue. The color splay for car is acrylic. I think urethane paint is needed to protect the surface. But it's expenshiver ! I can't buy it. This time I used them for car. But we can buy more cheaper acrylic splay paint. I don't know whats the deference of them.
If I use such cheaper acrylic ones and urethane clear coat, that's better combination, I noticed that now. It's later already.

I don't need noticing the rust !

11th practice to ride my python lowracer

I tried riding off road.
it's hard to handle stably on rough road. You can hear japanese bush warbler's singing.
Next one is up hill.
The road for walking has many small steps. It's dangerous to pass over there by riding with python.
Off course, next one is down hill.
I fall down twice. when I ride speedy, the small steps seems become bigger.
I like narrow road. It's exciting and thrilling.

I think I need more heavier front gear, because now I can use 3 smaller rear gears with front bigger one. I can use some low gears. and I guess shorter crank length is better. because with longer cranks, the position of feets go up and down with wider distance. it brings unstable.

Any way, I had an adventure today !

10th practice to ride the python

I can ride it for about maximum 8 minutes without touching the ground.
How can I take a movie better ?
I used the smallest rear gear. The handling with high and medium speed is very deference. In low speed, More sensible handling is needed.

9th practice to ride the python lowracer

I noticed the following points.
  • I can get more stability with heavier gear.
  • The balance of pedaling by both legs is important.
    If right leg is more powerful than left leg, I run to right side.
  • The positions feet influence to the direction.
    If right foot is higher, I run to left side.
  • The power of muscle and the skill to control handling by legs are needed to train. They grow up a little and a little.
  • The feeling of the balance is important. Like play the ski, The front of body and the direction to ride are same.
On this practice, I could ride more longer distance without falling down. I tried driving one straight line. However, I often progress like zig zag.
When a few dogs see my riding, they say bowwow ! They may think I am big snake !
I couldn't take a movie in this time ,too.

I need a back mirror, If I almost don't fall down.

8th practice to ride python lowracer

I couldn't take a movie of 7th practice.
I changed the place for my practice to more longer distance to ride.
I want to have a practice to turn. But I can't find enough wide space around my town.
 This time, I changed view sight to my eyes's sight. Enjoy as rider !
When I fell down, The bell was broken by attacking to the ground. So I attached the bell on seat side.
My riding becomes well. it progresses a little and a little.
I have to buy new bell. off course cheaper one and I never attach it on same part.
