Making front part

At first I made steering pivot.

I should drill as next step. I couldn't notice that.
The rectangular tubes are bent along with my drawing then tacked.

Welded. It need cleaning flux.

Cleaned.

I think my welding skill became a little good at flat part.

Today's last shot.

24 hours of working time passed.

10 Sept 2014

Connecting rear and center part

More welding line is needed to get more stiff.

I used drawing in 1/1 scale to set along with the center line.

Then bending with the angle 143 degrees. It's needed welding on the all of the surface to get enough stiffness.

Today's last shot.

Making rear part

I started the edges of rear part.

I bent along with the drawing 1/1. It's needed to set precisely.

Tacking then welding.

It's needed cleaning.

Cleaned.

The width became wide after welding. I cut the out side of surface then bent a little and welded.

Attached drop out.

9 Sept 2014

Cutting and hammering

I remember left some cutting and hammering staff.

There are used fin to attach BB shell.

The iron sheet for Fender was bent by hammering.

Done. For the next step, I need English wheel. I don't have it. I'm going to borrow it at my friend's garage.

This time, 40 x 40 rectangular tube is used as the center frame.

This is for front part which will have BB shell.

There are parts for the column to attach front controller deraileur.

Two slits are made for welding.

Welded.

Then sanding.

The preparation for welding the center tube and steering plate.

Then welded.

And bent the left wall and welded.

My friend gave me above way to get more stiff.

8 Sept 2014

Making drop outs etc

I started making new python.
But the design isn't new.

Today, I made drop outs and cut iron plates to support frame.

To drill, I use metal lathe with milling attachment.
To mark, I made sharpen narrow knife by my self.

From next work, I use MIG welding machine.

7 Sept 2014

Attached 180 rotors of disk brakes

I have designed my third python.
On my 20 inches python, I chose the rectangular tube 32 x16 for front part.
But on next my 24 inches python, I'm going to choose 40 x16 rectangular tube. Because it doesn't need any support constructions.
I also use disk brakes.
So the bigger rotor which diameter is 180 mm fits to my next python, I think.

I need stronger braking for the front drive wheel to enjoy down hill.

24 Aug 2014

Preparing next python

My next python' s wheels are 24 inches.
I'm going to use disc brakes. Coz it's weak with cheaper v break while riding with higher speed.

Memo for me

From tomorrow, I will start
Drawing.
