Pen case 2

I made normal sized one.

 When I cut the edge round, I use coin. This way should be done with dried leather. The wet leather keeps the mark of the coin.

 Wet leather's surface is very delicate. At first finish the inside.

 I tried carving on the surface. They are basic patterns.

 They were tinned with light red then, then weathering with a bit dark red.

 At last weathering with a dark purple. Acrylic clear paint was used to finish.

 Stitching was too strong to the wet leather in this time.

Pen case

I tried making pen cases.
I like writing with pencil. So I need a little bigger size of pen case to put new pencil in it. I found leather pencil case kit in the net.

 I think that the format isn't enough economical. I designed it is made from 3 pieces. The paper form is for normal sized pen case.

 Then cut them from leather. This time vegetable tanned leather for craft was used. It easy to make it a bit longer.

 These smaller pieces can be cut from thinner material. The inside is rubbed with a bit water to avoid fluffing. After that, I used chemical one to finish it.

 The wood block also was made by me.

 Glued the edge. Then guide holes were made.

 then stitched.

 I think that it's better to stitch dried leather material. This time, they included a little water to finish inside.

 Although I brush the edge with water, it doesn't get deep color.

Started leather crafting

A few months ago, I have started leather crafting.
That doesn't relate to my bikes yet.

These became to belt of leather cuffs.
 The cuff is constructed wider part and narrower parts.

 I tried carving. I noticed that I don't like stamping. So above one is only cutting.

 The leather is vegetable tanned one. We can tin it.

 The leather material is called saddle leather, too. It isn't easy to extend it.

Using metal rivet as alternative way of stitching is easy. But I don't like that. I mainly use stitching.

The cuffs fits to my wrist. 6 cm of around of wrist is minimum.

I made a pair of hand cuff for the first time.

Got accident

I got an accident when I was riding my bike lowracer. It isn't python.

A band for Right cuff slipped and the chain and chain wheel caught it, then I lost balance, I hit my left knee to concrete pillar for the electric line.
My knee plate was broken.



It's easy to lost balance with this bike, but it's also attractive point.
In this case, if I check my band for the cuff of the pants strictly, this accident can be avoided.

I think so. Any way, I have to take a rest for a while.

Recumbent Lowracer driving and stearing with Front wheel

This is first prot type recumbent lowracer of this type.

 The recutangular frame is used mainly. Because it's easy to weld them. almostly the jig doesn't be needed.
I designed this for DIY. I'm thinking to sell the technical drawing.
I blog my making stuff in this blog. They will become manual for DIY.

If you'd like to get completed frame, the frame will be made in the Prison.
The prisoner's welding skill is enough to make frame, I think.

Unfortunately, I don't like writing any things in japanese language. The language is heavy for my brain, Although it's my mother language.

Reinforcement

The seat of pink python isn't hard enough.
By attacking cushion, I can ride with more speed. But that means the power given pedaling is supported by the seat.



In the case of my white bike, I can't give more high power to pedals, because the stealing doesn't have the effection of centering front wheel like python lowracer and it's light for sharing. So the force of seat is enough. It doesn't have to support to the power of pedaling.

I think that the seat of my pink python needs reinforcement.



Up ward is bottom of the seat. I added four pipes for reinforcement.
Two of underside sorry to the power of pedaling. And then upper 2 ones work for reinforcing main frame. The main frame may not be able to support 1000kg. The forcement of carbon steel decreases the force to 35%. I heard that from high skilled man. The other bike maker said the thickness 1.2 mm is also available for my python's frame. The opinion is opposite. Now I don't feel and have any problems about main frame's hardness.

Making cushion for seat

I think some cushion is needed for recumbent lowercase to ride in the town.
So I made it.
At first, two Velcro strap were made.

Then, a piece of cloth was prepared to cover cushion.





The two Velcro belts were attached the cloth.


Next, a fastener were attached and sewed around.



I cut cushion and pushed in the cover. Then it was attached the seat.

From now, I go out by this bike and I check the cushion.
